I was a little surprised when I saw that this postcard was a depiction of a Fox Hunt taking place in Lexington, Kentucky. I was certain I had obtained a British postcard! Upon doing a little investigation I discovered that this card depicts a scene from the Iroquois Hunt Club, established in 1880 by General Roger D. Williams. I love the rich color of the red sporting jackets and the priest’s robe. Tally ho!
Grimes Mill, built in 1803 by Philip Grimes, serves as the headquarters for the Iroquois Hunt Club.
