Research trips should always be a balance between exploring records and exploring the location. This week brings us to Cincinnati, Ohio. A river town that grew into a major city, Cincy has a wealth of sites to visit.
Our Airbnb accommodation is located in an old, established neighborhood with homes dating from the early 1900s. And I must admit that when I walked in the front door, the staircase took my breath away! Quirky old homes with loads of character and stories to tell are always intriguing. Our hosts have been in the house for over 30 years and truly seem to love sharing their home with their guests.
The sight-seeing on this trip is a bit limited due to the time constraints, but yesterday we made time for a trip to the Cincinnati Art Museum. It did not disappoint!
A mix of old and new architecture the museum is situated on a hilltop in Eden Park. Plan to spend a few hours meandering through the galleries; and consider lunch or an early dinner in the Terrace Cafe.
