I came across this precious baby photo with identification on the back and I thought it would be easy to trace little Ruby. As it turns out, not so … Sweet little Ruby Veronah Morgan was born on March 13, 1910 and died on July 2, 1910. The writing on the back of the photo indicates that the photo was taken 3 weeks before she passed away. She is buried in Highland Cemetery, grave 46, section 12. The problem is that we don’t know where Highland Cemetery is located.
I hope that a little more detective work will provide some answers. I would love to see this photo returned to a member of the Morgan family.
UPDATE: Ruby Veronah Morgan Found
UPDATE: This post was first published on April 26, 2016. Since then we have discovered new information and have located the Highland Cemetery where Ruby is buried in Fort Mitchell, Kenton, Kentucky. (I have added the photos to her FindAGrave memorial page.)
The 1910 US Census listed the family as living at 105 Center Street, Covington, Kenton, Kentucky. James was 51-years-old and Clara was 36-years-old. Both indicated they had been married three years and that this was the second marriage for each. Their daughters were Eleanora (2-years-old) and Veronah (1-month). It was noted that Clara was the mother of three children, two of whom were living. James’ occupation was listed as carpenter.
