I’ve been a student of history ever since I was young and reading Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House on the Prairie. It was not a big leap when, at age 12, I became interested in researching my family history and trying to distinguish the roles my family played in the world; and I’ve been researching ever since! A former teacher, I left the public school classroom in 2016 and turned my full attention to the presentation of history in the way that it is most meaningful – through our families. Nothing brings the Mayflower to life like finding out that your eleven times great grandfather fell overboard! (That’s a true story, by the way. His name was John Howland and he lived to tell the tale!) My backgrounds in psychology and history education directly influence the lens through which I view, conduct, and present genealogical research.
