Written on the back of the photograph is “Mrs. H.T. Hollands, Oct 8, 1891” and “Aunt Mart’s sister. At first I thought the initials would be for her husband but I couldn’t find anything matching an H.T. for a man. I did find a woman named Hulda T. Hollands that certainly seemed to be a fit. I clicked on the Find A Grave link, and lo and behold, there was the same photograph that I have!
Our “Mrs. H.T. Hollands” is Hulda T St Bernard Hollands and married to William Hollands. She was born about 1838 to George St. Bernard and Charlotte Millard (per death certificate).
In the 1860 Hulda is living with her mother, Charlotte, and siblings in St Clair Township, St Clair, Michigan. Hulda passed away in 1910 in Detroit and is buried at Woodmere Cemetery.
(Note: Aunt Mart was Hulda’s sister, Martha)
