Francis Gerry “Frank” Bolin was born 12 May 1894 in Brainerd, Crow Wing County, Minnesota, the son of Francis and Anna Bolin.(1) He was a 1916 graduate of Oregon Agricultural College, Corvallis, Benton County, Oregon, where he served as the Captain of the Wrestling Team.(2)

Frank registered for the World War I Draft Registration on 5 June 1917, where he lived in Toppernish, Yakima County, Washington. He was 23-years-of-age, single, and self-employed as a farmer. He listed one year of military service in a hospital through the Cadet Corp. His physical description was that of short – 5′ 4″ in height, medium build, gray eyes, and black hair. It was noted that he was “very deaf.” (5)
Frank married Ethel Marie Heaton 27 October 1926 in Seattle, King County, Washington. Mr. Edgar Heaton and Mrs. Florence Heaton served as the witnesses. (6)
Frank registered for the World War II Draft Registration at the local board in Bremerton, Washington, on 29 April 1942. He was 48-years-of-age, and lived at 1226 7th Street, Bremerton. He worked as a shipwright at the Puget Sound Navy Yard. He listed Marian Bolin of 3403 N.E. Schyler Street, Portland, Oregon, as the person who would always know his address. (7)
Frank Bolin died at 88-years-of-age on 18 May 1982; and his wife, Ethel, died in 1989. (8)
